Jon Davey

Jon Davey has been a Community Champion for many years. Arriving in Windsor 30 years ago, he tried to help SME businesses connect with his Business in Berkshire website. Google loved it, driving 5,000,000 page views in 2008!
• A few years later, I Love Windsor was born, with a focus on community groups & charities, helping create awareness of the great work that they do.
• In 2019 Jon became a local borough Councillor representing Clewer & Dedworth West and enjoyed his 4 years helping the community while learning lots of new skills.
• 2020 and Jon found himself in Tesco as covid changed everyone's worlds!
• 2024 Bray Parish Council needed some administrative help. His experience on the planning committee as a local Councillor and his software skills enabled him to help put the monthly planning meeting papers together.
• 2026 Jon is now Clerk of Greenham Parish Council and has a very good understanding of how local government works…

Back in 2019 Jon helped gather petition signatures for a Windsor Town Council which met the relevant thresholds to demonstrate local support but the decision to have a Windsor Town Council was blocked by the ruling party.

2023 and the Liberal Democrats made the creation of a Windsor Town Council a key election pledge, which has seen slow progress due to the financial situation.

2026, Jon has identified legislation that is little used by town and parish councils which could help negate many of these financial pressures and also make for a much more pleasant Parish Councillor role…
